About SEOTypes of SEOThere are two types of Search Engine Optimization: Natural Results are search engine rankings that are earned listed based on how relevant the search engine determines the website is for the keyword entered. The order of the rankings is determined by the score the particular search engine algorithm gives the website. The ways to achieve natural results are discussed in the section "The SEO Process". Paid Results are search engine rankings that a website pays for. They can be referred to as; pay per click, PPC, cost per click, or pay for placement. Paid results are usually displayed to the searcher in different areas than website results ranked by the search engine algorithm naturally. Some examples of these labeled areas are "sponsored listings" in Google search or "sponsor listings" in Yahoo search. In Google, paid results areas are shown at the top of each page and along the right side of regular results. The cost of paid results is determined per consumer "click" on listings. Websites pay at certain amount per click or they bid to compete for specified competitive keywords. Every time a searcher clicks on a link that is a paid result the website is charged. The main search engines offering keyword bid placement are Google and Overture. Overture feeds other search engines. There are some things to note about pay per click campaigns; websites only pay for results that are clicked on by searchers, websites set the price they will pay for each keyword, websites set a maximum amount they can be charged in a set amount of time (day, week, or month). Pay per click campaigns allow websites to deliver e-marketing campaigns quickly. Managing paid result campaigns can be very difficult and complex, but the potential traffic and revenue that can be generated from properly managed pay per click campaigns can be extremely critical to e-marketing programs. PageRankers.com has years of experience managing paid result campaigns, and providing; keyword analysis, statistical reporting, and strategic guidance. « Back to About Seo |
